And in the Winter league: Well I did promise that this weekend we would see the sun but at 10 am when the first match was due on the tee it was actually very difficult to see anything!
A slight delay therefore ensued while the fog cleared but the matches were soon underway and there was in fact some sunshine – albeit a fleeting glimpse.
Predictably there was also some rain but this time I think most people got round without getting too wet.
Some hard fought matches on the day and nothing to separate the first four teams with two overall draws setting the tone.
It therefore came down to the following groups which were similarly tight but with Carol Bradshaw and Steve Gibbs securing a 1 Up victory on the last hole it was the Over C’s who took the honours on the day, edging out the Hackers who took the second slot.
Congratulations to everyone on the day for some really competitive golf.
So – that concludes the first half of this season’s Winter League and as we head into the Winter Break the table looks very interesting indeed ….
Still all to play for in the New Year and please remember the League resumes on Saturday 19th January with preliminary teams due in by Thursday 2nd
