The winter league resumed on Saturday and it was a case of ringing in the changes for the New Year at both the top and the bottom of the table.
Although it was a cold winters day, the rain stayed away and conditions were therefore much better than expected.
The Hackers certainly capitalised the most, winning their match via a clean sweep, taking the honours on the day and also returning to the top of the table.
Commiserations to their opponents, The Dirty Dozen, who played out some fine matches taking two of the matches down the last and only losing another on the 17th.
The Mad Hatters were the “Best of the Rest” this week and, as last years winners, somewhat surprisingly make their first appearance on the winners sheet this season. However, things can’t be going too badly as they have also crept stealthily up the table to sit second behind the Hackers.
Congratulations therefore to the Hackers and the Mad Hatters

Elsewhere the Eagles recorded a much needed win over second placed Norfolk N’Good and “clawed” their way out of the bottom two – and with the second bottom team, Fleetwood Macs, also recoding their first win of the season we have a new team laying claim to the title of strongest team in the league – The Dirty Dozen.
Its still all very tight and all to play for – next match is scheduled for Saturday Feb 9th with preliminary teams due to me by Thursday evening
PS – Lots of discussion over slow play at the weekend particularly in the later matches so please can everyone keep the pace up, keep up with the group in front and play ready golf.
