Winter League:
Following a fairly dramatic and turbulent close season in the transfer market the 2019 – 20 Winter League Season swung back into action on Sunday and, true to form, the weather swung back to typical winter conditions. Quite a challenge for most matches but especially for the earlier starters as the rain came down very heavily before conditions improved as the afternoon wore on.
Some great performances on the day and some keenly contested matches but it was the Reformers who rose above both the conditions and the rest of the league to take a clean sweep and therefore the honours on the day.
Congratulations to the Reformers who have clearly laid down an early marker for the season and also to the Over C’s who took the runners up slot on the basis of their Bonus Points scoring.
With only 9 teams in the league this year it was the Bogeymen who had a rest day for the first fixture and for the next fixture on Sunday October 13th it will be the turn of the Reformers to “sit on the bench”.
A chance for the rest to maybe catch up a bit of ground.
