I am very happy to say that yesterday we picked up our 2nd trophy of the season with our U18 boys securing the victory over Dorset and Sussex in the annual triangular at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset. It was a short but very tight course and a great test of golf which reflected in the scores. Dorset have won the trophy for the last 3 year in a row and super proud of our boys playing on a Dorset home course and doing the business beating them by 31 shots, Sussex came close with us beating them by 2 and it was our last 3 players delivering the points, securing us the win. Josh Mulcahy & Charlie Forster with 67 and Drew Mackinnon 68. A big special mention to Charlie and Drew who both stood in last minute to play and fantastically delivered helping the team win the trophy, super proud of you boys.
Not only did we win, we also won the Individual for the second year running, Aman Uddin going for back to back titles finishing level and our youngest member of the squad Tom Chalk who was 3 over with 4 to play taking 3 birdies and a par to tie level. It was then decided by the boys to go back out in a sudden death playoff which Tom gracefully won with another birdie securing the title.
Wayne and I are really proud of you all and its a credit to be your managers, you all play with your hearts on your sleeves, your passion and drive to succeed shows your commitment and dedication which delivers Trophies well done team and UP THE HAMPSHIRE.
Next up for our U18’S is our first league match at Home next Sunday at Hockley as we take on Surrrey and Sussex
Regards
Rob Mulcahy
