On a cool, pleasant golfing day on Saturday 18thAugust, the SWGC men hosted Sandford Springs men in our annual friendly.
Fielding a 10x player, 5x team, 2 ball better ball game the SWGC men ran out victorious with a fine 4-1 win.
My thanks go to Peter Tubb, Neal Apps, Nathan Stock, Mike Fleetwod, Alan McEwan, Jeremy Dolphin, Peter Earwaker, Mike Woodhead & Malcolm Berryman for representing the club in fine fashion and delivering a great win, including a fab 7&6 victory for Peter Tubb/Malcolm Berryman .. great golf.
Our guests thoroughly enjoyed playing SWGC, noting how welcome they felt and were highly complementary on the course condition. They were surprised how ‘green’ SWGC is, despite the prolonged good weather and low rainfall. Well done Peter and ground staff for excellent work.
