Between them the Men’s and Ladies sections of the club play over twenty Friendly Matches each year. These are, as the name suggests, “friendly”; they are a no-pressure way to play at other clubs or to host teams from across the region. Generally, they are better ball competitions with an informal meal either before or after the match, club colours, though welcomed, are not compulsory.
Over recent years the participants seem to have come from a relatively small section of the membership and it would be good to get a larger proportion of golfers involved.
Upcoming Ladies and Men’s matches are displayed in the respective changing rooms and Mixed matches are advertised on the main notice board. There are ten matches between now and the end of October, some are currently open so why not give it a go.
