Daily Mail Win: South Winchester summer pairs winners Mike Sandbrook and Mike Parton played Round 1 of Daily Mail Foursomes versus local rivals Hockley. In some challenging conditions the South Winchester boys prevailed, winning 6&4. Good luck in the next round guys.
Men v Scratch Team: This annual club rivalry was played yesterday in dry but very strong South West winds from the Blue Tees. The format was full handicap singles. Being generous souls and in full support of the scratch team, the men were defeated 7.5 to 2.5, but many games were tight until the brutal blue tee closing 6 holes. Well done to the scratch team lead by Paul Kille and good luck for the season, which begins with a tricky Beckford Bowl away trip to Stoneham.
