Sunday 5th May saw SWGC host the annual Cathedral City Challenge, a four way competition between local golf clubs High Post, Salisbury & South Wilts and Royal Winchester, that has been running now for 10 years. This was followed by a dinner to reminisce on the events of the day and discuss all things “golf”, good to hear the challenges faced at SWGC are not unique to us.
The Captain of each club selects 8 of their greatest warriors and together with Vice Captains battle out in matchplay for glory, silverware and bragging rights for the coming 12 months.
Peter & Steve’s Knights for this year’s battle were carefully assessed and recruited, and representing SWGC were:

- Neal Apps
- Peter Earwaker
They proved an inspired selection amassing 23 points and a winning margin of 7.5 points over second place Salisbury & South Wiltshire, Royal Winchester 3rd and High Post (next year’s hosts).
