Last Sunday saw the SWGC scratch team host Hampshire U18 and Stoneham in a triangular matchplay fixture.The 12-strong squad faced strong opposition with a number of the visitors holding + handicaps.
2 points were available for a win and 1 point for a half. We managed to beat Stoneham 17-7 and tie the Hampshire U18 12-12. This meant we won the trophy overall due to a superior aggregate score against a Stoneham.
Thanks to Rob Mulcahy for all of his efforts in organising this fixture for the first time. We are hoping to make it an annual match.
The match formed a final opportunity for players to put down a marker for Beckford Bowl selection and many of the guys did so brilliantly. On Sunday April 7th we head to Rushmore for our Prelim Round fixture in our most prestigious tournament of the season.
