Dear Members and Winter League Players,
This weekend saw the final matches of the regular season take place which were in fact rescheduled from October the 14th last year when snow blanketed the course. Given the vagaries of the recent weather it would have been no surprise had there been a repeat of those conditions but in fact the sun came out (as promised) and the matches were completed in some style.
Although the top two could not be overhauled this week, the chasing pack were keen to close the gap and position themselves for a “Final” push next weekend. With this in mind, The Reliants and Reformers set about their task valiantly and posted seven wins and a half between them, thus doing everything possible to maximise their chances. Unsurprisingly these were the best two scores of the day but it was the Reliants who edged it with a clean sweep over Norfolk n’Good.
Congratulations to these two teams who take the vouchers for the day.
Winners: Reliants : Each Receive £18 Voucher: Jeremy Wheeler, Alan Bailey, Caroline Summerfield, Jane Payne, Rob Atton, Robin Gow
Runners-Up: Reformers : Each Receive £12 Voucher: Sue Wilton, Nick Rogerson, Brian Hallett, Iian Hennan, Neal Apps, Rod Ellaway
Full results from Sunday:
Elsewhere the Eagles were valiantly fighting to move off the bottom and, in sharing the points on the day with the Bogeymen, they took advantage of the misfortune for Norfolk n’Good who end the regular season as the strongest team in the League.
But what of the top two? With the end in sight, every point is a valuable commodity and both teams stumbled …… but with the Hackers winning one and halving two matches and the Mad Hatters winning two and halving one….. the resultant three point swing puts the Mad Hatters back on top by a SINGLE POINT.

As we all know – anything can happen on Finals Day so still all to play for.
Well done to everyone who played today and watch this space for the details for Next Sunday ….
