Dear Winter League competitors and members.

Very strong winds at the weekend which made the golf challenging at times for everyone and tough to stay “on Course”

But it was bottom team “The Dirty Dozen” who set their sails, made a mockery of their league position and simply blew away their opposition to take the honours on the day and soar up the table.

Winners: Dirty Dozen: Each Receive £18 Voucher:  Rob Mulcahy, Josh Mulcahy, Mark Denham, Les McIlroy, Harvey Denham & Mark Payne

Runners-Up: Mad Hatters: Each Receive £12 Voucher: Kevin Watson, John Sheehan, Damian Bryant, John O’Shea, Andy Rogers & John McEvoy

Elsewhere there was plenty of jostling for position as the league enters the final third and with three teams in the bottom half of the table all winning, it is almost impossible to predict the final outcome. At the top of the table the Hackers lost ground to the Mad Hatters who claimed second spot on the day and are now level on points with the Hackers, only remaining in second spot by four bonus points.

These two teams will no doubt be the ones everyone wants to beat over the closing weeks so they will have to be on their best form to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

At the other end of the table the Eagles were blown off course and return to roost at the foot (or talon?!) of the table – better luck next time out.

A final note – thanks to everyone who played at the weekend for keeping up a good pace with most of the matches finishing in and around four hours. A good achievement in tough conditions.

Regards

Kevin
