The Charity Cup was held in July his year, moved from its normal spot in November, in a bid to boost attendance. A betterball stableford pairs competition over 18 holes played in great spirit on a wonderful British Summer day ie. It rained and it shined within the 18 holes! However the warm rain did not dampen spirits and a great days golf was had by all.
The Competition was, for the 22nd year, kindly sponsored by Graham and Sue Roads and their support of the Captain’s Charity is very gratefully received once again.
With the entry fees, raffle of Saints shirt signed by the legend that is Le Tiz (won by Alastair Jones) and the Club Captain being sponsored to play the 18th in attire not entirely keeping with dress code! Over £1000 was raised for the Rainbow Centre in Fareham.
The competition was won by husband and wife pairing of Mel and Peter Williams with a superb 8 points in the final two holes to secure 46 points and victory by 3 over 5 pairs on 43.
Thank you to everyone for your support !
