The Hickory Pairs competition could not have been played in conditions more removed than those enjoyed by the Winter league the previous day! We were bathed in glorious sunshine, obviously those who entered are among the more righteous among the membership ?
And the most righteous winners were Kevan Walsh and Tim Markwick with a combined stableford score of 75 points .. well played gents (regrettably Tim is a little camera shy) narrowly beating Ralph Turner & Ian Pond into second place.
Can I take this opportunity to re-iterate my comments made at the prize giving… now that the clocks have gone back and the winter looms large we will have less daylight hours to get as much golf in as possible, tee times will be harder to come by and if we ALL want to get our rounds completed before darkness, 5 hour rounds have to become a thing of the past…..
PLEASE – KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT, NOT JUST AHEAD OF THE GROUP BEHIND
If we all aim for a maximum four hour round we can all enjoy the unique benefit of our course, its year round Playability !
Thank you, Peter
