Dear Members,
This week we are taking drastic action and have hired Dan (pictured) to target the Crows with his highly trained birds of Prey.
He will be using a variety of Hybrid Falcons for open chases and Harris Hawks for more tree lined assaults, if you see him around please say hi but I wouldn’t get too close!
Once the hunting Falcons and Hawks have made their presence felt, we are hoping other handlers will train birds here thus keeping up an aerial presence.
Less drastic action you will see are in the form of fake snakes and Falcon kites, which will also deter the unwelcome residents and hopefully move them on to feed elsewhere.
We have purchased and refurbished a Yamaha Buggy to be used in emergencies and to ensure a vehicle is on hand at all times for members assistance when necessary.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of new 1st Assistant Green Keeper Mason Woodford. Mason joins us from Cams Hall with a wealth of enthusiasm and experience and having worked with Andy George (New course Manager) previously, will make a huge difference to the team and the condition of the course.
We know some of you are Rugby / Socialising fans so have put on Special drink and food promotions in the Clubhouse for you to enjoy whilst cheering on your favourite team during the World Cup.
Septembers free member event of ‘Chip & Sip’ is to be held on Friday 27th at 5:30pm-7pm. Sign up in the Clubhouse or Pro shop. The event is run by Sam and will include a chipping and pitching master class followed by a complimentary drink in the bar.
