The 1st round of the Bridport Bowl Competition is decided by a home and and away tie against 2 other clubs, we were drawn against two New Forest teams and played the home match against New Forest Golf Club on March 30th. Our team performed well in good conditions winning the match by 4.5 points to a half a point…. a great start to this years competition.
We then travelled to Burley on April 7th to play the away leg. This was expected to be a much more challenging task but the team responded magnificently and we won the tie by 3 points to 2… winning 2 matches, halving 2 and loosing only 1 match. This was a great result by the boys which when coupled together with the home win should set us up nicely for a home draw in the KO round of 16…. we have to wait and see where we end up after all the mini league results are in, but our results give us every chance!Congratulations to all who played and those who were on standby as reserves.
