The last thing you need as a Captain just before you’re about to face the top team in the league is a last minute drop out. A quick reshuffle required to keep the G/S match feasible and take the hit in a one vs two situation for the 4BB ……
Therefore, losing the Greensomes 7&6 didn’t do much for the confidence but cometh the hour, cometh the captain. A sterling effort by Bogeymen Captain Rob Hardman ensued and he took his match down the last to triumph 1 up.
As we all know, team match play golf is all about momentum and the rest of the Bogeymen followed his lead to take their two singles matches and win not just the match but also record the best score of the day!
Congratulations to the Bogeymen

Maybe a question for the statisticians but has it ever happened before that a 5 man team has come out on top for the whole day??
So – with the Hackers slipping up, the door was wide open for the chasing pack to grab the bragging rights for the Christmas break.
Two tight matches for the Hatters and Norfolk n’Good meant they both made up ground, but it was the Over C’s who took second spot on the day, bouncing back from a defeat last time out, and now sit on top of the table for Christmas.
There are now just 5 points separating the top five teams and, as was seen at the weekend, one result can really shake things up.
At the other end of the table the Eagles reclaimed their title of strongest team in the league (victims of the Over C’s success) and will no doubt be looking to strengthen in the transfer window – but as there is no transfer window, maybe a letter to Santa??
Hope everyone enjoys the break from winter league and comes back raring to go in January for the second instalment….

Special note : If you happen to see Jane O’Hara please mention that I kept my promise and did not mention that it was Jane and Matt Rivers who lost to Rob in my report !
